Hindi malaman ni Hector kung siya ba'y gising o nananaginip lamang. Pakiramdam niya'y nakalutang siya sa alapaap. Kay-lambot ng hinihigaan niya. Nakahiga ba siya sa ulap? At kay bango ng naaamoy niya. Halu-halong amoy ng mga bulaklak. Hindi niya halos mabuksan ang kanyang mga mata dahil sa bigat ng kanyang mga talukap. Sa malamlam na ilaw ay naaninag niya ang isang magandang babae. Nakatitig ito sa kanya at nakangiti. Puting-puti ang suot nito. Isa ba itong anghel? "Tang ina," sa isip ng binata. "Patay na ba ako? Nasa langit na yata ako."
